kapa haka

Kia Ora everyone, my name’s Katipa and welcome to my blog post.
What I was learning : I’m going to share with you my day about teaching the rest of the senior school the proper actions of Aha Ngapuhi E.
Here’s my DLO (actions are on it).
I enjoyed it because there weren’t that much important interruptions. One of them were my three mates getting in trouble for giggling. Even if I felt bad for them I felt a little bit of disappointment because it made us waste a bit of time and also because they’re some of my big inspirations in the kapa haka roopu.
Reflection: what I’ve learnt from this is even sometimes… the students have to become the teachers. And that we can’t teach students something we don’t fully understand ourselves.

writing write and some more writing

Kia Ora everyone, my name’s Katipa and welcome to my blog post.
What I was learning: today I’m going to share with you my explanation writing.
Here’s my DLO.
What I didn’t do well: I didn’t do very good in using passive voice and present tense because I didn’t really understand it.
What I did do well: what I did do well though was making my writing very persuasive.
What I did to fix my writing: I fixed my writing by participating in a group conference, my teacher explained to me what I needed to do.
Reflection: What I’ve learnt from this is even if the writing you’re supposed isn’t your type of liking, you must always use the correct sentence structure for the correct topic.

THE LEGENDARY T SHAPED

In Te Ngahere we’ve been learning how to explain our writing with the correct sentence structures by using T shaped. The purpose of this was to learn new sentence structures to help us improve our writings that explains subjects.
here's a DLO
My personal favourite article was Kopinga, a place of peace, because it tells me about the Moriori people, and I actually thought the writers of the story just wrote Maori wrong, but I found out that they’re different from us.
Reflection: what I learnt from this is that even if you work by yourself, you must always find help if you really need it.
But try first. Has my DLO helped you with your writing?
If so, I’m happy I could help.

WHO WILL WIN THE RUGBY WORLD CUP?

In Te Ngahere we’ve been doing an activity because we were learning to list ALL the teams that made it into the rugby world cup.
Here’s the DLO
MY learning for this was to learn about rugby groups from other countries like the Wallabies (Australian rugby team) along with learning which country the world cup was being held at, with that being Japan.
Reflection:
Thanks to this, I can now memorise the rugby world cup groups.
Have you ever had trouble knowing what group was playing?
