dragon

In Te Ngahere we’ve been doing some more writing.
The objective was to find a video that you find cool and interesting, choose a part of that video and describe it in the best way you can with powerful descriptive vocab.
I liked all of this because the video that I chose suited what I liked writing about.
I did well on knowing the correct language features for the piece of writing that I was doing but I didn’t do very well on knowing which part I was going to do though because I wanted to write the whole thing but I didn’t want the readers to read TO much.
I am also happy that I got a rubric 5 because that means a massive achievement in my writing and now I look forward to get my writing to a rubric 6. So I need to deliberately and consistently use precise vocab like Expressive, academic, descriptive, technical/abstract words for affect.
Hope you enjoyed my post and even if it’s not a school activity feel free to choose a video and do the exact thing I did.

NOT LET

on Thursday the entire school brought ourselves into the marae because someone called Nichole was going to give us a message with a little story about a character named Ned.
Ned’s letters (of his name) also had different meanings.
N = never give up.
E = encourage others.
D = Do your best.
I liked her message because a lot of meaning was in it and I think that whenever she explained it to people that had a complicated life it probably changed their behaviour.
What I did well was think very highly of the message she was giving us.
I hope she makes another story, with another character that has a new positive meaning.

science

in Te Ngahere we’ve been learning science.
The reason for this was because Paihia school was hosting our own science fair.
My group was Dezray and Darrius, as a group, we decided that our project will be to see what type of brand battery lasts the longest with a remote control car. I wasn’t very good at this though because I didn’t have much knowledge about batteries. What I enjoyed though was having fun with my group even though they were a bit disrespectful to the whare, for example they were playing base ball with the rakau. What I think I did do well was when we were testing I was doing some other work.
