some of you who are reading...
probably know me,
or some you probably don't
but that doesn't matter because I'm here to say...
THANK YOU
THANK YOU, Paihia School, Thank you staff and Pta who taught me through out my learning years.
learning years which I clearly enjoyed.
so if you can all witness with me, I'd like to personally "thank" and "congratulate" teachers that taught me through out the years.
Mrs Simonds, you were the first teacher that showed me what a real begginer school experience was, and for that I am forever grateful. I can even remember how in those days I barely talked and socialised with people, but you introduced me to the light.
Mrs Newman, even though you're gone, I would always remember how much joy you gave me once I joined your class even if you were a bit grumpy (sorry if that sounded offensive).
Mrs Cameron I might not be able to remember that much experience I've had from you in your class but it's clear that you're indeed an excellent teacher.
Mrs Walliams, I remember how I got in trouble in your class "A LOT", but none of that was on Purpose, I just couldn't understand half the stuff you were teaching me so I apologise for that but I also thank you for teaching me that kind of stuff.
finally...
Whaea Becks and Whaea Chrissy, you were the best teachers that i looked up to in school experience, new learning, new fun, new ways, you taught me how to feel good about myself.
you taught me how to give "Kindess", "respect", "honorship" "all" that good stuff to my classmates, to my Tupuna/elders and to society aka the world.
along with looking after it.
thanks to that, I can finally feel inner peace within myself.
I also want to wish Whaea Becks on his adventurous journey.
and I'd like to wish Whaea Chrissy the best of luck whenever she becomes Princible.
speaking of the Princible, I'd like to "THANK" Mrs Lindsey.
Mrs Lindsey, I honestly do not know what to say.
whenever I got into a conversation with you...
there were compliments coming LEFT AND RIGHT LEFT AND RIGHT.
they were heartwarming, very very heartwarming.
the gifts you gave, the offers you presented.
I just couldn't believe it, it was umimaginable.
you will always be respected and welcomed in my home and in my heart mrs Lindsey.

I am truly sorry to all those people I have missed and have not enlisted.
but please do not think that even if you are not on the list I do no feel a lack of respect, because I swear by my soul that somewhere in my life that you have something extremely special for me.
because of that
all I wanted to say was Thank you
and please, accept their certificate of apreciation
other then that
Have a good night folks.
The other reason was it just helped us to refresh ourselves from all the hardworking we do at school. What Iāve learnt from this is to be grateful for what people do for you whether itās something small like making your lunch for school or something big like taking you to the museum. NOW I am ready to take on school work once again. BYE. So far I think it was our third visitā¦
The storieās topic was about someone called Duffy being trapped in a game called magic bricks, then going on an adventure to try figure a way out. Hereās the DLO to tell you more about Duffyās adventure along with the game.
This was so far the coolest story the duffy community has introduced to our school, because it was very creative and imaginative.
Their planning on the background was very well executed.
What Iāve learnt from this is, to always be creative and to always follow your imagination because it can help you get a lot of unique/interesting ideas to help entertain your audience.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-59432669802297247762019-11-07T08:29:00.001+13:002019-11-07T08:29:37.666+13:00KATIPA'S LEGENDARY ATHLETIC SKILLSEvery Wensday afternoon and Friday after lunch, our school does athletic training.
We do this once a year to train for the real athletics.
What? You donāt know what athletics are?
Well, athletics is basically a series of sporty activites (NOT SOCCER OR RUGBY), the activities we perform are high jump, long jump, sprints/relays, shot put and discuss.
And we do it in groups. Iām in group four.
HEREāS THE DLO ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES.
My challenges were discuss and high jump.
Sadly, I didnāt get to do Shot put or Long jump last week because we had some interferences, with the weather.
My specialties being sprints/relays.
What Iāve learnt from this is that even ANYONE have their own weaknesses, but itās always good to try, so next time I do Athletics training Iāll try more harder.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-48221602544280782752019-10-30T14:05:00.002+13:002019-10-30T14:05:38.506+13:00kapa hakaKia Ora everyone, my nameās Katipa and welcome to my blog post.
What I was learning : Iām going to share with you my day about teaching the rest of the senior school the proper actions of Aha Ngapuhi E.
Hereās my DLO (actions are on it).
I enjoyed it because there werenāt that much important interruptions. One of them were my three mates getting in trouble for giggling. Even if I felt bad for them I felt a little bit of disappointment because it made us waste a bit of time and also because theyāre some of my big inspirations in the kapa haka roopu.
Reflection: what Iāve learnt from this is even sometimesā¦ the students have to become the teachers. And that we canāt teach students something we donāt fully understand ourselves.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-42629258041041552882019-10-29T13:10:00.000+13:002019-10-29T13:10:16.563+13:00writing write and some more writingKia Ora everyone, my nameās Katipa and welcome to my blog post.
What I was learning: today Iām going to share with you my explanation writing.
Hereās my DLO.
What I didnāt do well: I didnāt do very good in using passive voice and present tense because I didnāt really understand it.
What I did do well: what I did do well though was making my writing very persuasive.
What I did to fix my writing: I fixed my writing by participating in a group conference, my teacher explained to me what I needed to do.
Reflection: What Iāve learnt from this is even if the writing youāre supposed isnāt your type of liking, you must always use the correct sentence structure for the correct topic.

In Te Ngahere weāve been doing more writing.
Like all the other writing weāve been doing, we had to make up our stories but it has to be from a picture, THAT THE TEACHERS SELECTED for us to do.
I love writing so much because in conferences people can give me feedback to improve my writing skills and I also like it because I love expressing my imagination to other people.
I didnāt really enjoy the part where I misunderstood the story beats because I thought that was the way we actually needed to write the story.
Also, Sadly I didnāt do very well in making sure it makes sense.
Hereās the picture I wrote about.

Because on Tuesday it was the practise rounds, so they wouldnāt of went that hard, but I know they wouldāve done their all on the actual festival.
Hereās the performance if you want to watch it
cultural fest
I also made some mistakes along the way like at the end when we took a knee I nearly fell.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-89948839009519395212019-09-11T10:46:00.001+12:002019-09-11T10:46:58.962+12:00copy right

This week in Te Ngahere weāve been learning how to get pictures without breaking the copy right rule. We had to get the license, the author and the name of the picture.
This is a very good thing to learn about because it helped me understand copy right.
I enjoyed it because I want to use images but since its someone elses I didnāt wanna make people think it was mine.
But the hard thing was finding the license because it says License everywhere in the place you got it from and you donāt know which one it really is.

I also did good at running. The reason Iām informing you this is because in the past I didnāt even run sometimes, but this time I did. Probably just because I was more confident and I had no jersey on. Sadly I lost a lot of my breath at the finish line because I raced all the way to it without even breathing. Well thatās the end of the Paihia School cross country for me, hopefully I do more in College. Also no doubt that College cross country is more challenging then Primary.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-30191402911668335402019-09-04T09:23:00.000+12:002019-09-04T09:23:08.990+12:00bay of islands college

last week the year 8ās went on a trip to Bay of Islands College.
I couldnāt wait to go there because I was thinking of how much fun I would have.
What I enjoyed about Bay was when I got there was everyone was being friendly and all the classes we attended were very cool, the subject I liked the most was probably Digital Drawing because it is like a free for all class where you make drawings out of pixels and you can make whatever you want.
What I didnāt enjoy though was my brother Charlie not being there because I was looking forward to having a good day with him but he wasnāt there because my little brother was having surgery.
I did well on all the subjects we did on the orientation day but with a little bit of help, especially wood work because Iām not very good at that.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-41965608517220348202019-09-02T09:29:00.003+12:002019-09-02T09:30:46.304+12:00science

In Te Ngahere weāve been presenting our science project information to the whole school on a board. The way we had to do this was we had to make a presentation.
Print the slides (that had the information).
Finally glue all those printed information onto the board.
This was really challenging because we just finished our presentation on the day before the science fair and luckily received the board.
On the next day we finally finished the board and placed it into the whare where all the other completed boards were.
On the last bit of the day all the classes came to see the boards.
What I enjoyed about this was we were able to maybe give the juniors some ideas about what they could make when they come into our class. What I didnāt enjoy was getting sore legs and only having adults come over. To fix this we shouldāve brought our remote control car earlier because that is mostly the only thing that attracted the little kids.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1194964059412854842.post-64510212124912685962019-08-29T09:59:00.000+12:002019-08-29T09:59:13.953+12:00dragon

In Te Ngahere weāve been doing some more writing.
The objective was to find a video that you find cool and interesting, choose a part of that video and describe it in the best way you can with powerful descriptive vocab.
I liked all of this because the video that I chose suited what I liked writing about.
I did well on knowing the correct language features for the piece of writing that I was doing but I didnāt do very well on knowing which part I was going to do though because I wanted to write the whole thing but I didnāt want the readers to read TO much.
I am also happy that I got a rubric 5 because that means a massive achievement in my writing and now I look forward to get my writing to a rubric 6. So I need to deliberately and consistently use precise vocab like Expressive, academic, descriptive, technical/abstract words for affect.
Hope you enjoyed my post and even if itās not a school activity feel free to choose a video and do the exact thing I did.
