procedure

This week in Te Ngahere we were supposed to write a procedure on what we did for technology. A procedure is like a list of instructions of how to do something. In technology Dayton, Jack, Liam and myself were doing shelves. I enjoyed doing this because I really like writing. I did really well on my spelling, but I think I might’ve needed to understand the instructions a bit more. I hope I could understand the instructions a bit clearer in the nearby future and I could make my procedure much better.

maori rotation

This week in Te Ngahere we’ve been doing te reo maori rotation. This was when we had to do a list of activities rotating around the school. My group was Pohutukawa tahi but I was confused because I thought I was in Kowhai. I didn’t mind and I was still happy with my group. On the first day Whea Becks (our teacher) called out the names of who was in what group. We then went outside with the whole school doing the same. We then sat down in the correct groups with the teachers telling the groups to go in a classroom. We went into Mrs Simmon’s classroom first. She gave us a photo and we were supposed to hide it. Then we needed to find the item in the photo. Eventually I found mine. After 20 minutes we went to Whea Mel’s classroom to learn a song. Then we went to Mrs Neumann’s class. First we had to get in a circle and grab an animal. We also had to say the colour, the animal and how many we picked up in te reo maori. I really enjoyed this because it was fun and had a lot of simple activities. I think I might need to learn how to be more faster when I did Mrs Neumann’s activity because I barely got any points. What I could do next is remember the colour and animal.

te reo

In Te Ngahere a lady named Whaea Lisa came into our class again to teach us more te reo maori.
Instead of her wanting us to tell her the kupu, we had to write our own.
What I mean by that is we all had to get into pairs or even groups of 3. I chose CJ.
What we had to do was there was a piece of paper and it had a group of boxes in it.
In the top had a list of maori words and under them we had to do what the english kupu was.

I enjoyed this because it was challenging and I love challenging stuff to do.
I think what I did well was working hard. But this was difficult because under the meaning of the maori kupu
we had to write down stuff that related to it and we had to relate it with the letter Whea Lisa gave us.
This was difficult because for me my mind was totally blank and had no sort of ideas in it.
I think if I wanted to help myself achieve this I have to make my words a bit more understanding because
on my paper my words were hard to understand.

Duffy assembly

Yesterday the whole school went to the Whare to have first ever Duffy book assembly.
When we got there we suddenly sat down like we always do in the whare. After some minutes of social and
seriously loud talking it stopped sometime after. When we finished talking,  Whaea Chrissy suddenly
introduced us to someone named Zinky, She introduced herself and claimed to be someone from another
planet.
She was a lady with a rainbow uniform.

We had a lot fun like singing the Duffy song, meditating, fighting some pirates, and finally prize giving,
I mostly enjoyed meditating because I dreamed of being someone from ancient Japan who meditates.
I might’ve needed to learn the lyrics of the song a bit more because it was pretty hard to read..
Once that finished we all said goodbye to Zinky and went back to the classroom.

We then had another prize giving. this prize giving was the teachers giving out some books for us to keep.

Again I enjoyed this marvelous event happening and hope we do the same next year or probably next term.
